Forum: “Food Fabrication: Culinary Practices and Food Politics in the Arab World”

The Orient-Institut Beirut and the Goethe-Institut Beirut will host a forum on food in Lebanon and the Arab World January 14-17, 2015 at the Goethe-Institute Beirut.

FoodFabrication_PosterFood is constructed and has cultural, political and economic significance. The forum brings together farmers and entrepreneurs, activist and artists, politicians and academics in discussions, film screenings, academic presentations, a photo exhibition and excursions in and around Beirut. The aim of the event is to critically examine cultural eating habits, cooking and dining cultures, food trends and the relation of food and arts.
